It is with deep sadness we announce Local member Eddie Jack passed away on Wednesday September 2nd He is resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row with visiting on Friday, September 4th from 2-4 and 6-8 A Celebration of Eddie's life will be held on Saturday, September 5th at 2:00pm from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel.
The Labour Day Parade will be held on Monday September 7th . The parade lineup starts at 11:00am by the Kind Street Fire Station. Parade starts at 12:00 noon around King Square, down King Street, up St. Patrick's and finish at Harbour Station. Please come out and show your support.

The Annual Dragonboat race will be on Saturday August 29th from 8:00 AM - 5PM at Renforth Wharf. The first race starts at 10:30 AM. Racers are urged to get there early and all Local members are recommended to attend to show support. The festival has a lot of sights and is fit for all ages.

The second call is for Jacob's at the Refinery. They require 12 Pipefitters, 4 Apprentice Pipefitters and 9 Welders to test on F3/F4 for day shift .They also require 15 Pipefitters, 4 Apprentice Pipefitters, 8 Welders to test on F3/F4 and 1 Welder to test on F3/F4 & F6/F5 for Nights. Starting on September 16th at 7:30am for Days and 7:30pm for Nights. You must have all safety training up to date, be able to climb, be clean shaven and a D&A is reqired.Weld test will be on September 15th at the hall. Orientation will be on Wednesday September 16th at the Hilton 7:30am for days and 7:30pm for nights.

If there is enough interest we will also have a poker hand for $10.00. 50% goes to the winner and 50% to the Dragon Boat Team. This run is open to all union members, family and friends.
